Executive 

 The President

             The President is the man in charge of the Executive branch of the United States government, that signs bills to be passed, is in charge of enforcing those laws, and is in charge of the military.

Constitutional Requierments

  • 35 Years old
  • National Born Citezen
  • A United States Resident for 14 years

Terms and Pay

      The United States President serves for a term of 4 years, but they can run for another term and can serve up to 2 terms, but cannot serve any more terms than that.  With those 4 year terms they make a salary of $400,000 a year.

Office of the Vice President

     The Vice President is president over the senate and has the tie breaking vote if there is ever a tie when voting on a bill.  Most Vice Presidents are also asked to participate in policy discussions and important diplomacy by the President.

Presidential Succession

          The 25th amendment states that if the Vice President and the cabinet members believe that the president is disables the Vice President can take office. 9 Vice Presidents have taken office but not all have taken office through the 25th amendment some have taken office because the President at the time was killed, impeached, or they just stepped down.

Roles of the President

          The president has many roles that he fills while in office. Some of these roles include Chief Legislator, Chief Diplomat, and Commander and Chief. As the Chief Legislator he fills the role of being a part of congress in a sense that he gets to sign and pass laws after being passed by both parts of congress. He can also veto the bills passed by congress so that they do not become a law and is sent back to congress.The Presidents role as the Chief Diplomat is to communicate with other countries to produce peace treaties, under the support of congress and their votes.The President is also the Commander and Chief, and this means that he is the highest position in the military and often makes some of the most important decisions regarding the military.

The President has is also his parties party leader and the crisis manager during crisis in the Unites State


Electoral College


          The Electoral College is the system that we use to elect the president, with an all or nothing, win or lose in the Electoral College. Each state has the same number of Electoral College votes as they have total number of members in congress. So the least a stat can have is 3 votes, two for the Senate and one for their one member in the House of Representatives. During an election, the candidates that wins the majority vote in the state, wins all of the Electoral College votes for that state. To win an election a candidate will need 270 electoral votes because they just need to have a majority, when there is a total of 538 electoral votes because there are 100 for the Senate, 435 for the House, and 3 for Washington D.C.
